TLD e delega
TLDs and delegation
A delegation is the parent zone’s way of saying which name servers are responsible for a child zone. The root delegates TLDs; a TLD delegates domains such as example.test; a domain can delegate subdomains in turn.
Worked example
The parent publishes NS records for the child. Those records are directions, not the child’s web address. The recursive resolver follows them to the child’s authoritative servers and asks there for the requested host record.
Delegation data in the parent and authoritative data in the child must agree. If they disagree, different resolvers may reach different servers or fail. When troubleshooting, record which server answered each step rather than looking only at the final result.
